The number of Direct from High School Full-Time Degree-Seeking African American
Freshmen increased by 18% from 2003 to 2007 to 390 students
 

Whereas the overall percent of minorities has increased this year to 16% up 3% from 2003, the number of
of African American students has increased by 15%, rising to 1,834 students in 2007 from 2003
 

The percent of total enrollment that is African American has remained between 11%-10%
since 2003
 

International student enrollment increased by 9% since 2005 to 605
students in 2007.  International students attending WSU represent 66 countries.
 

The percent of total enrollment that are women has remained between 57%-58% since 2003
