The number of Direct from High School Full-Time Degree-Seeking African American
Freshmen increased by 37% from 2004 to 2008 to 507 students
 

Whereas the overall percent of minorities has increased this year to 17% up 3% from 2004, the number of
of African American students has increased by 18%, rising to 2,068 students in 2008 from 2004
 

The percent of total enrollment that is African American has remained between 11%-10%
since 2004, but increased slightly to 12% in 2008
 

International student enrollment increased by 4% since 2004 to 639
students in 2008.  International students attending WSU represent 66 countries.
 

The percent of total enrollment that are women has remained between 57%-58% since 2004, but decreased
slightly in 2008 to 56%
