"It meant someone believed in me, which I believe is truly a priceless gift."

Tell us more about you and your life, your profession, and your successes.

This is my sixth year at Wright State and my second as a graduate teaching assistant. I am currently working in my chosen career field as a first-grade music teacher in Tipp City. I also direct the Raider Pep Band at Wright State.

What is your favorite Wright State memory?

There are so many. To name a few: performing at a private lunch for Tom Hanks, doing radio interviews for ARTSGALA, touring to Interlochen and performing at PASIC with the percussion studio, all of the guest artists we have hosted at the School of Music (including Robert Van Sice, Michael Burritt, and the U.S. Army’s Old Guard Drumline, just to name a few), and playing drums/directing the Raider Pep Band in the NCAA tournament in Dallas, TX. But maybe above all, the countless private donor lunches on the stage of Schuster Hall to help raise the money for the Creative Arts Center renovation, and the feeling of pride I get when I walk in the iconic main entrance.

What did receiving the ARTSGALA scholarship mean to you?

It meant someone believed in me, which I believe is truly a priceless gift.
