"It was rewarding to be recognized from so many other talented artists."

Tell us more about you and your life, your profession, and your successes.

I moved to New York City a month after graduation for a two-month dance intensive at Broadway Dance Center. The last week of the program, I decided I wasn’t going back to Ohio and going to try and live in the city. And I’ve been here for over three years. I dance in a small company, as well as part of a vaudeville hip hop musical. We perform multiple times a month and will be traveling to Denver, Colorado and Amsterdam next year. During the day, I walk dogs, as well as teach a group fitness classes on top of multiple weekly rehearsals. During my free time, I take a class or try to find a brief moment to relax.

What is your favorite Wright State memory?

I met my best friend at Wright State who was also a dance major with me. He and I are roommates here in the city now.

What did receiving the ARTSGALA scholarship mean to you?

It was rewarding to be recognized from so many other talented artists.
