Tim Dooley and Aaron Wilson

November 2, 2008-January 7, 2009

This joint exhibition of sculptural print installations by Tim Dooley and Aaron Wilson features innovative works that combine commercial or found objects with silkscreen printing techniques. Their work often comments on current political or social conditions. Aaron Wilson, a 1994 graduate of Wright State's Art and Art History program, describes his work as “thematically centered on consumerism and suburban lifestyle. [It] revels in the hypocritical and indulgent aspects of contemporary American culture."

The artists will give an informal gallery talk during the exhibition's opening reception on Sunday, November 2, 4:00-5:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.

Tim Dooley is an Associate Professor of Printmaking at the University of Northern Iowa. He received his MFA in Printmaking from the University of Tennessee in 1997 and BFA from Florida State University in 1993. He has lectured at the College Art Association, the University of Kansas, and the Mid America Print Council Conference. His work has been exhibited in juried, group and solo exhibitions at 621 Gallery in Tallahassee, FL; Buena Vista University Gallery in Storm Lake, IA; The Fugitive Arts Center in Nashville, TN; Kingston Gallery in Boston, MA; and the International Print Center in New York City.

Aaron Wilson is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Northern Iowa. He has taught Printmaking and Foundations there since 1997. Prior to residing in Iowa, Aaron completed his BFA at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and earned an MFA from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
