The Fixed Shadow: A Juried Photography Exhibition of Camera-less Images

October 27-December 8, 2013

The Robert and Elaine Stein galleries at Wright State University invites submissions for an exhibition of camera-less images. This can include, but is not limited to: chemigrams, lumen prints, photograms, photogenic drawing, and scanograms. The final images submitted may be digital output, but a camera can not have been used in the making of the original work.

Exhibition Eligibility
The exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States 18 years of age or older. All work must be original. Current faculty, staff, and students of Wright State University are ineligible.

Jurors
Carol Panaro-Smith received her BS in Art Education from State University College at Buffalo and an MFA at Arizona State University. She has taught photography and mixed media for over 20 years in the valley. James Hajicek is Professor Emeritus in the School of Art at Arizona State University. He received his BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from the University of New Mexico. His area of specialization is late 19th century photographic printing processes.

Carol and James have spent over 50 years collectively being dedicated to and fostering in others an appreciation of the antiquarian photographic printing processes of the 19th century. This is evidenced in their own creative work as well as in their careers as educators. Their work can be seen http://www.alchemy-studio.net.
