It allows you to have input in important decisions such as recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Achievement, Recent Graduate and Volunteer Service Awards. Annual membership in the Alumni Association for an individual is $35. Of this amount, $5 is given to the college or school you attended (e.g., College of Liberal Arts or the School of Medicine) and is used to provide alumni benefits such as newsletters and reunions. The remaining $30 goes toward Alumni Association programming and activities, alumni publications, chapter development, and alumni awardsjust to name a few of the uses. return to top How do I locate a friend who graduated from Wright State? Due to our desire to protect safety and personal privacy, we do not give out personal information on our alumni. If you wish to contact someone who graduated from Wright State, you should provide useither by e-mail or in writingwith your name, address and telephone number. We will contact the person you are trying to reach with the most recent address we have. No, the Alumni Association is an independent nonprofit organization and does not receive funding from the University. return to top Is the Alumni Association the fund raising group at WSU? No, the University Development Office does the fund raising. We work closely with the development office but, the alumni office is the "friend raiser" for the University. return to top How is the Alumni Association different from the Office of Alumni Relations? The Office of Alumni Relations is part of Wright State's Division of Advancement. The Alumni Relations Executive Director is an employee of the university who works to serve the entire university alumni constituency and to coordinate alumni programming within the university setting. The Alumni Association is an independent, separately incorporated and funded organization that focuses on Alumni Association members. The members of its Board of Directors are comprised of elected volunteers who have made a commitment to serve the Alumni Association constituency and to cultivate its relationship with the university. A duplicate diploma can be obtained for a charge of $35 and takes 2-3 months to be delivered to your address. We must have your request in writing, no e-mail or telephone requests will be accepted. On your written request, include the following information: the alum's name as it should appear on the diploma, social security number, type of degree received, year of graduation and address to which the diploma should be shipped. Enclose a check or money order for $35 made payable to Wright State University. You can also charge it by including your credit card number, credit card type (Visa, Discover or Mastercard) and expiration date in the body of your letter. Yes, provided you are a current voting (dues-paying) member of the Alumni Association, and have been a voting (dues-paying) member for the immediate past two years prior to application, your child or dependent may be eligible to apply for the Alumni Association Legacy Scholarship. Funded by annual contributions to the Wright State University Foundation and by special fund-raising events sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Legacy Scholarship Fund has provided student scholarships since 1994.
