Senior year is an exciting time, as new beginnings are quickly approaching. Your student will begin the college application process this year, so keep materials organized and mark your calendar for application and financial aid deadlines!
Applying to Wright State
Wright State University does not have an application deadline for new students. Once we receive a completed application, it usually takes about two weeks to make an admission decision.

Housing
Once your student is admitted to Wright State University, he
or she can apply for campus housing by completing the online
application. Housing applications are processed on a first-come,
first-served basis, so the sooner your student applies the
more
likely his or her preferences will be met. A deposit of $150
must be made before an application is processed; this deposit
is refundable
through May 1. Housing and roommate assignments are made in late-July.

Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid at Wright State, your student must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA form is available online or your student can pick up a paper copy from his or her guidance counselor, a public library, or college/university financial aid office after January 1.
Helpful hints for the FAFSA:
- Filing the FAFSA online is the quickest and most convenient method.
- To complete the FAFSA, you need student and parent 1040s and W-2s.
- Wright State's Title IV code for the FAFSA is 003078.
- The priority deadline for the FAFSA at Wright State is February 15.
- Parents and students can apply for a US Department of Education PIN by visiting
www.pin.ed.gov. The PINS
are used to electronically sign online FAFSA's, making the process
easier and faster.
Wright State University also offers several scholarships for first-year students.
Academic Performance Scholarships - apply for admission by February 15, and meet scholarship qualifications through the admission process. The deadline for Academic Performance Scholarships is February 15.
Competitive Honors Scholarships - require an application, recommendation letters, typed essay and academic transcript. The deadline for Competitive Honors Scholarships is January 15.

Career Exploration
LA 201: Effective Career Planning is a course designed to guide your student through the five-step process of choosing a career or major that fits his or her personality and desired lifestyle. In this course, your student will have the opportunity to take control of his or her career plan; develop a profile of interests, skills, and values; become familiar with the majors offered at Wright State University; demonstrate an understanding of potential occupations; and generate a list of potential career options.
