Residence halls and apartments

At Wright State you have all types of choices to make. One of your most important choices may be your "home away from home." Each of our residence communities offers unique features and fantastic amenities.

Our three residential halls for first-year students are Hamilton Hall, The Woods, and the Honors Community. Explore which residential community is for you!

Returning and transfer students can also choose from our apartment communties: Forest Lane, College Park, The Village, and University Park.





Hamilton Hall

Hamilton Hall is home to more than 300 students and features a lobby providing a commons area for students to meet and hang out as well as a 24-hour computer lab. It is conveniently located next to the Student Union for quick access to the campus tunnel system and the Union Market. Hamilton Hall is a traditional-style residence hall with floor bathrooms. It is co-ed by floor.

Engineering and Computer Science students have the opportunity to connect with each other by living on the Engineering and Computer Science floors.

Honors Community

Wright State's Honors Community provides an opportunity for more than 300 honors students to live and study together. Special programs in the Honors Community include themed floors, philanthropic and service projects, honors courses taught in the building, and lots of social activities.

Each year one of our prestigious faculty members serves as faculty-in-residence and lives in the community.

The Honors Community features:

The Woods

The set of nine buildings that makes up The Woods is home to more than 1,200 students. With all types of housing options, like CHOICE, you are sure to be able to find a room that is just for you. The Woods are co-ed residence halls with semi-private bathroom facilities attached to the room.



The Woods features:

  • Single, double, triple, and quad occupancy
  • Suite-style bathrooms
  • Microwaves and refrigerators in every room
  • Air conditioning
  • Cable TV and Internet hookups in each room


College Park

Spacious and comfortable four-bedroom, two-bath apartments are offered at College Park Apartments. Nestled in beautiful natural woods, College Park offers hiking trails, picnic areas, and basketball.

Four students, each with his or her own bedroom, enjoy these roomy apartments. College Park is offered unfurnished with carpet, dishwasher, oven/stove, full-size refrigerator, and washer and dryer in each unit. College Park includes cable and trash removal. Also, each room is equipped with an Ethernet hook-up for students to connect to Wright State University's Local Access Network from their room. All buildings in College Park are co-ed.

College Park features:

  • Kitchen w/dishwasher and refrigerator
  • Washer and dryer
  • Cable, utilities, and phone included
  • High-speed Internet

College Park eligibility:

Three quarters of WSU housing; transfer or continuing sophomore; or be at least 21 years of age


University Park

Spacious and comfortable four-bedroom, two-bath apartments are offered at University Park Apartments. Located between the Honors Community and the Village Apartments, brand new University Park offers parking and an ideal location.

Four students, each with his or her own bedroom, enjoy these roomy apartments. University Park is offered fully furnished with a bed, desk, and drawer per student. In addition, each unit has carpet, a dishwasher, oven/stove, full-size refrigerator, and a washer and dryer. University Park includes cable and trash removal. Also, each room is equipped with an Ethernet hook-up for students to connect to Wright State University's Local Access Network from their rooms. All buildings in University Park are co-ed.

University Park features:

  • Fully furnished bedrooms, living and dining rooms and kitchen (with dishwasher, refrigerator, oven/stove and microwave)
  • Washer and dryer
  • Cable, phone, and utilities included.
  • High-speed Internet

University Park eligibility:

Three quarters of WSU housing; transfer or continuing sophomore; or be at least 21 years of age


Forest Lane

The Forest Lane Apartments provide apartment-style accommodations for 260 students in four buildings: Aspen, Sequoia, and Sycamore. Forest Lane contracts are for nine and a half months; summer contract extensions are available.

The majority of the apartments are two-bedroom units that house four students. All four buildings in Forest Lane are co-ed. All apartments are air-conditioned and have a full kitchen.


Forest Lane features:

  • Four twin extra-long bed frames with mattress
  • Four desks with desk chairs
  • Four three-drawer dressers
  • One kitchen table with four chairs
  • Love seat
  • Two arm chairs
  • End table
  • Living room lamp

Forest Lane eligibility:

Three quarters of WSU housing; transfer or continuing sophomore; or be at least 21 years of age

The two-bedroom, two-person units are furnished in a similar style but with furniture to accommodate two people. Kitchens have full-size stove, oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and full-size refrigerator. Utilities, local phone service, voicemail, and cable TV are included. The community is also equipped with laundry facilities (coin and Wright1 Card operated) and a community center including a multipurpose area and a large-screen television room. Also, each room is equipped with an Ethernet hook-up for students to connect to Wright State University's Local Access Network from their room.


The Village

Although the Dayton metropolitan area offers many different housing options, an apartment in The Village will provide you with a comprehensive set of benefits unavailable elsewhere.

Rental costs for the apartments in The Village are at market value in comparison with apartments in the area surrounding campus and are lower than rental costs for newer apartments in the Miami Valley Region. No security deposit is required. Each of the apartments features wall-to-wall carpeting, window coverings, an oven/stove, microwave, and full-size refrigerator. Also, each room is equipped with an Ethernet hook-up for students to connect to Wright State University's Local Access Network from their rooms.

Since the apartments are adjacent to campus, you will save time and money getting to and from class. The Village is just minutes away from downtown Dayton, downtown Fairborn, and a wide variety of shopping centers and restaurants. The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) operates bus service to campus with connections to a large service area.

The Village's resident staff helps make living on campus a fulfilling and important part of the university experience. They are available to provide referrals to campus and university support services, respond to emergencies, and assist in planning community activities.
