What
is required to receive a Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant?
The student must meet the general eligibility
requirements for federal student aid.
The student must be a U.S. citizen.
The
student must be a Federal Pell Grant recipient
The
student must be enrolled full-time.
The student must be an undergraduate student working
towards his/her first bachelor's degree and in his/her first year
(and never previously enrolled in an undergraduate program) or second
year of study.
If a first year student, the student
must have completed WSU
College Preparatory Curriculum from a secondary school program
of study and graduated from high school after January 1, 2006.
If a second
year student, the student must have completed WSU
College Preparatory Curriculum
from a secondary school program of study and graduated from high school
after January 1, 2005, and the
student must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on a 4.0 scale).
NOTE:
The U.S. Department of Education reviews the results of the FAFSA
to find students who potentially meet the criteria for the Federal
Academic Competitiveness Grant. This review only identifies potential
Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant recipients. Schools determine
which students may actually receive the this new grant.
