  2. What is the deadline to apply for federal student aid?

Wright State University's priority deadline for filing a FAFSA is February 15--prior to the start of the next academic year. The priority deadline is the date that students must have submitted their FAFSA via mail or internet in order to be considered for the federal student aid Campus-Based Programs. A student can apply for federal student aid at any time during the year. However, it is best to allow a couple of months for processing.

  3. If I miss WSU's February 15 FAFSA priority deadline date, can I still apply for federal student aid?

Yes, a student can apply for federal student aid at any time during the year. It is best to allow a couple of months for processing. However, students who submit the FAFSA after the February 15 priority deadline date will not be considered for Federal Campus-Based Programs at Wright State University.

  4. Is there an income level cutoff to qualify for financial aid?

Income levels can affect grant eligibility. However, student and parent loans are offered to help finance a student's education regardless of income level.

  5. In order to receive financial aid do I have to apply every year?

Yes. A FAFSA is good for one aid year starting with summer quarter through spring quarter.

  8. If my financial aid exceeds my cost of school what happens to the additional money?

If the additional money is from a Federal Stafford and/or PLUS Loan it will be reimbursed to the student or parent within 72 hours (after the scheduled disbursement date) by the Office of the Bursar. The Office of the Bursar will either mail a check or direct deposit the funds--if direct deposit has been established. If the additional money is from scholarships, grants, or campus-based loans, the money cannot be refunded until two weeks into the quarter. At that time the money will be either sent to the student by check or direct deposit.
