Appeals

Satisfactory Progress

Students who have been assigned an Unsatisfactory SAP status may appeal to the Office of Financial Aid if extenuating circumstances have affected their ability to meet the SAP requirements.

To appeal, students must submit to the Office of Financial Aid a written statement of their circumstance and supporting documentation when applicable. Students must include their University ID (UID) on all correspondence. Appeals should be submitted to Willie Boyd, Director, Office of Financial Aid, Wright State University, Dayton OH, 45435. Letters of appeal can also be sent by facsimile to (937) 775-5795 or by e-mail to willie.boyd@wright.edu. If the appeal is approved, federal student aid eligibility shall be granted for the remaining quarters of the effective aid year. Students are not eligible to receive federal student aid for those quarters in which they had been assigned an Unsatisfactory SAP status.

Students who have been assigned an Unsatisfactory SAP status may re-establish their eligibility on their own, be it their appeals were denied or they chose not to appeal. Students must contact the Office of Financial Aid in order to determine their SAP status once they feel they've met the standards.
