Getting the Grades

Wright State is committed to student success. Our faculty teach the classes, we offer small class sizes and we offer free assistance to help you get the grades you need to succeed. Here are a few places you can turn to help you achieve more:

University Writing Center

Free help with any writing project is available from the University Writing Center. Individualized writing consultations can be set up to help students with generating ideas, proof reading, developing research strategies, organizing and revising drafts, working with grammatical or mechanical problems, formatting papers, and using Microsoft Word.

The University Writing Center has networked computers for student use, a reference library, and a Writers Hotline for questions that can be answered on the phone.

Tutoring Services

The tutoring office will help locate a tutor for any class in which you are having difficulty. Freshmen are eligible to receive one hour of free tutoring per week for each class they are taking. Additional tutoring and tutoring for upper level courses is available at an hourly fee.

Mathematics Learning Center

Students looking for mathematics help will find it at the Mathematics Learning Center. The center provides free walk-in tutoring for students in most introductory math classes. So whether you are starting in Elementary Algebra or studying calculus, you will be able to find help when you need it.

Term Paper Research Clinics

When it's time to begin that research paper for one of your classes and you just don't know where to start, try a Term Paper Research Clinic with a Wright State librarian. This free service provides students with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a librarian to map out a research strategy for writing that term paper.
