The Benjamin & Marian Schuster Hall

Goals: Create a world-class concert hall

  • Eliminate unwanted sound transference.
  • Create light locks between public areas and the hall.
  • Modify the house and stage elevations to allow wheelchair access between the house and the stage.

The renovation to the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Hall, located in the Creative Arts Center at Wright State University began in July 2011.  The design team led by H3 Hardy Collaboration has been engaged to design the concert hall as part of the implementation of the University master plan developed in 2009.

With a team of theater and acoustic consultants, the renovation is poised to distinguish Schuster Hall as a one of a kind musical performance venue on Wright State’s campus.

With a holistic approach to design, all of the building systems, lighting and sound technologies, and finishes will be updated to enhance performance experience. Critical design decisions are evaluated on the notion of creating a performance space within a learning environment.

This newly renovated venue will be christened at the 2012 Arts Gala on March 31, 2012.
