AAUP-WSU has proposed the article below for inclusion in the first collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for non-tenure-eligible (NTE) faculty. Our negotiating team handed it to the administration at the initial negotiating session on March 11, 2013. Reports about the status of this article will be found below the article itself.
See our CBA Negotiations page for a roster of the AAUP-WSU negotiating team, brief reports about each Monday's negotiation session, and an article-by-article summary table with links to detailed information about each individual article that either the administration or AAUP-WSU proposes to include in the CBA.
Article 38Agreement Duration38.1 This Agreement shall be effective upon execution and expire on June 30, 2014. 38.2 The parties agree to begin negotiations for a successor agreement no later than January 2014. |
At this first negotiating session, our negotiating team pointed out our wish to have this first CBA for NTE faculty to expire with the existing CBA for tenure-eligible and tenured (TET) faculty. The administration asked whether AAUP-WSU foresees two separate bargaining units (as is the case now) or a single combined unit; we answered that our preference is for one. The administration noted that if the administration and AAUP-WSU agree that there should be a single bargaining unit, then the parties should initiate action soon with SERB (Ohio's State Employment Relations Board) accordingly.
