MOSAIC is a collective of 14 organizations, agencies, and universities/colleges that engage in sexual assault education, prevention, and services:
What is the purpose of MOSAIC?
The purpose of MOSAIC is to provide opportunities for organizations addressing sexual assault issues in the Miami Valley to network, collaborate, and share resources.
Who belongs to MOSAIC?
MOSAIC is composed of organizations, agencies, and universities/colleges that address sexual assault education, prevention, and services. MOSAIC membership is open to these entities in Montgomery, Greene, Preble, Warren, and Clark counties.
What is MOSAIC's history?
In September 2003 at Wright State University, community leaders met to share resources and discuss current issues and needs related to sexual violence in our community. The goal of the meeting was to provide an opportunity for key leaders and service providers to get up-to-date information about existing resources and to identify ways to work together in efforts to assess and respond to the needs of those in the Miami Valley. Since there is no comprehensive (hotline, ongoing counseling services, etc.) center that focuses primarily on sexual assault in the area, resources are decentralized. The MOSAIC network was established to better link the many excellent services that are available to sexual assault survivors in our area.
How does being part of MOSAIC help my organization?
MOSAIC is primarily a resource-sharing and networking organization; there is no cost or work involved for membership. Members benefit by sharing information, learning about available services, and developing contacts with colleagues committed to ending sexual violence.
When and where do meetings take place?
Meetings are held bi-monthly at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. Date and time are determined by membership consensus.
Who should I contact to obtain more information or join?
