2007 Women’s History Month Keynote Address

Actress, choreographer, and director Rosie Perez.

Actress, choreographer, and director Rosie Perez visited Wright State University in celebration of Women's History Month.  Perez's directorial debut film ¡Yo Soy Boricua, pa' que tu lo sepas! (I’m Puerto Rican, just so you know!) was also screened two times at WSU earlier in the day as part of the Women's History Month celebration.

Ms. Perez’s humor shone through and she often made the audience laugh.

Rosie’s talk, titled "Pa' que tu lo sepas: Activism for Women's Health," explored the forced and coerced sterilizations of Puerto Rican women both on the island of Puerto Rico and in the United States. While the talk was about a serious matter, Ms. Perez’s humor shone through and she often made the audience laugh.

Approximately 250 were present the lecture, and enjoyed food while waiting to personally greet Ms. Perez after her talk.
