New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation is provided by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) each August. For dates and further information, contact Tina Scarberry at 937-775-4522 or via e-mail at tina.scarberry@wright.edu .

The Women’s Center has compiled a checklist of how to get started as a new employee, including computer access, parking passes, and how to get your Wright One card and office keys. Download the checklist here.

Promotion and Tenure

The promotion and tenure process at Wright State University, including the general, departmental, and college procedures, is described in Article 13 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Salary Information

Minimum base salary and additional compensation information for Bargaining Unit Faculty, is described in Articles 24 and 25 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Networking on Campus

Networking on campus is possible through the Women Faculty Rendezvous, organized by the Women’s Center together with Women’s Studies. This quarterly networking event enables women faculty to share news, meet new faculty, and hear about research and other professional opportunities. Parenting on Campus

Wright State University and the Women’s Center provide a variety of resources and support for faculty, staff, and student parents. For information about daycare on campus, faculty leave policies, and lactation rooms, please visit the Women’s Center’s Parenting on Campus page.

Professional Development

Through the support of the President’s Office, Wright State University sends a woman on the full-time faculty or staff to the HERS Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration. The program offers intensive training in higher education administration around three curricular themes: Trends and Challenges in Higher Education, Managing and Marshalling Resources, and Leading People Through Change. Summer Institute faculty members are women executive officers from institutions across the nation. For more information about the Summer Institute, please visit their Web site.

Sexual Discrimination and Harassment

Wright State University’s Policy against Discrimination and Harassment is intended to ensure a respectful environment for all members of the academic community. Women in Research

The 2005 Annual Report by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs honors several of the university’s women researchers, including Susan Praeger, Janeece Warfield, Sharmila Mukhopadhyay, Rosemary Ramsey, Anita Curry-Jackson, Mariana Morris, Jennifer Subban, Michele Wheatly, Burga Jung, and Colleen Finegan.
