Jennifer Baumgardner & Amy Richards

Ms. Perez’s humor shone through and she often made the audience laugh.

Activists and authors Jennifer Baumgardner and Amy Richards visited WSU as part of the Women’s Center’s 15 Year Anniversary.  They delivered a talk with the provocative title “Can I Be a Feminist and... (shave, eat meat, be pro-life, etc.)?" that explored what it means to be a feminist today.

Ms. Perez’s humor shone through and she often made the audience laugh.

The celebrated third-wave feminist leaders listened to the audience, fielding many questions about the current state of the women’s movement, the myths of feminism, and the potential of feminist leaders.

Approximately 250 were present the lecture, and enjoyed food while waiting to personally greet Ms. Perez after her talk.

After their public lecture, Jennifer and Amy signed copies of their co-authored books Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism, and the Future (2000) and Grassroots: A Field Guide to Feminist Activism (2005).
