James F. Cannon is a retired judge of the Dayton Municipal Court where he was the administrative judge of the court from 1992 until his retirement December 31, 2005. He was appointed to the Wright State University Board of Trustees in 2008.

Prior to his term on the Court, Mr. Cannon served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Montgomery County, Ohio and also had a private law practice for several years. He also had a twenty year career in the United States Air Force.

Mr. Cannon earned B.A. and M.S. degrees from Wright State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton.

He currently serves on the Community Advisory Board for the University College and the School of Professional Psychology Advisory Board of Wright State University.

He and his wife Anita reside in Dayton.
