Community-Oriented Policing

On behalf of the staff of the Wright State University Police Department, welcome to the community policing Web page. The WSU Police Department personnel embrace the concept of community policing and are particularly responsive to the needs of the University's diverse campus community. It is understood that the police officers enhance and maintain a positive rapport with students, faculty, and staff in order to continue the safety in which the university has enjoyed in the past.

The Community Policing Program is an essential part of maintaining a positive environment. Community Policing is an organization wide philosophy that promotes community and police partnerships; proactive problem solving; and community engagement to address the causes of crime, fear of crime, and other community issues. The main focus of community policing is to develop positive contacts between the police and the Wright State University community.
