Seasonal Temperature / Humidity Guidelines:

ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers) has conducted studies that test the comfort level of lightly clothed adults engaged in sedentary activities at various temperature and humidity levels.  Their research, published in ASHRAE Standard #55, has shown that the average comfort level range is from 72 - 79 degrees F, with relative humidity between        20 - 70%.

Wright State University's Physical Plant department has established the following guidelines for temperature and humidity parameters for classrooms and offices in the buildings on WSU's campus:

Fall / Winter

Minimum relative humidity:                      20%

Acceptable room temperature range:      69 - 75 degrees F.

Spring / Summer

Acceptable relative humidity range:         20 - 70%

Acceptable room temperature range:      72 - 77 degrees F.
