Handicap Parking Permits
Disabled individuals may contact the Office of Disability Services
for information about and assistance with obtaining a state issued
or temporary
handicap parking permit.
To
park on the Dayton Campus and Kettering Center, in addition to displaying a state handicap
placard:
- Handicap faculty, staff, and contract staff must purchase a faculty/staff
permit.
- Handicap students must purchase a commuter student, resident or
park & ride permit.
- Park & ride permits are valid in park & ride Lot 20 and in Nutter Center Lot 7 and 8.
Specific information about permits and fees can be found in other
paragraphs of the Permits and Fees section.
Handicap
parking spaces are located in visitor Lots 2, and 9, Lots 1,
3, 4, 7,
8 (gated), Lots 11, 13, 16, 17, 18, and park & ride lot 20; and, near the entrances
to all of the resident buildings.
A
student who needs to access the handicap spaces in gated lots must
request that the Department of Parking and Transportation activate
the Wright 1 Card. (Faculty/staff Wright 1 Cards are automatically
activated when a permit is purchased.) A person who is unable to use
the Wright 1 Card reader may request a remote gate opener from the
Department of Parking and Transportation. A $35.00 Dollar fee will be assessed for unreturned remote gate openers upon leaving WSU.
