Position Summary:    To provide assessment and clinical care to a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students. This position includes consultation and professional education to the Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) which is staffed by psychologists, graduate and post doctoral students affiliated with the WSU School of Professional Psychology. This position is half-time at the CWS. The remaining half-time of this position will be in ambulatory psychiatric care and undergraduate and graduate medical education.

Education and Experience:     D.O. or M.D. with at least 5 years of clinical and educational experience, be licensed to practice or be eligible to practice within Ohio and be Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Preferred:  Demonstrated interest and experience in psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and consultation-liaison psychiatry, and demonstrated teaching experience and excellence in medical education. 


Position Description:  

Provide diagnostic assessment and clinical care to a diverse population of undergraduate and graduate students. Provide consultation and professional education to the Counseling and Wellness Services which is staffed by psychologists, graduate and post doctoral students affiliated with the WSU School of Professional Psychology. Provide supervision of residents. Provide outreach and education programs. Provide treatment, referral of students for appropriate care, outreach and education, liaison with community hospitals, and supervision to advanced psychiatric residents.

Teaching of residents and medical students.

Deliver ambulatory care within the WSU Department of Psychiatry at Elizabeth Place.

Attend meetings of the Committee on Medical Student Education and the Residency Training Committee as well as interview resident applicants.
