Position Summary:   Teaching of Chinese language, as well as culture and literature.

Education and Experience:     Master’s Degree in Chinese, or Master’s Degree in another field combined with a very strong record of successful college-level teaching. Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English; Solid teaching experience.

Preferred:  Successful teaching experience at the university level; Commitment to building a strong program in Chinese; Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and other programs; Experience with instructional technology.


Position Description:  

Teaching courses in Chinese language, as well as occasional courses in Chinese culture, literature, and related topics.

Professional service to university, including work on committees, collaboration with other faculty in Chinese and Asian Studies program, work with students to build and promote Chinese program, work with departmental colleagues to integrate Chinese into Modern Languages department, work with community partners in promoting  awareness of university programs, serve as advocate for Chinese and Asian Studies at Wright State University.
