Candidate must clearly meet or exceed department's requirements for tenure. Preferred: Experience in department administration as chair or assistant chair or head of a language section; evidence of ability to collaborate successfully with other academic units. Position Description: Chair the Department of Modern Languages, which includes responsibility for teaching assignments, course scheduling, annual evaluation of faculty, and supervision of budget curriculum, bylaws, promotion and tenure processes, and department collaboration and outreach. Teach a reduced load of classes in language as assigned. Maintain scholarship as appropriate, including research, publication, conference presentations, etc.
