Storm Water Management

Wright State University infrastructure is designed with of a separate storm sewer system for the management of storm water runoff from campus.  This system collects runoff for discharge at various points on campus. The EPA considers this system a non-traditional municipal separate storm sewer system and as such WSU is required to obtain a storm water discharge permit.  The permit requires the university to develop and implement a storm water management program designed to reduce the discharge of pollutants to the maximum extent practicable, to protect water quality, and to satisfy the requirements of the Clean Water Act.  EHS has obtained the required permit, developed the required storm water management program, and works with those departments who have activities that can affect storm water quality.  For more information on the EPA’s storm water program visit their website at:  http://www.epa.state.oh.us/dsw/storm/index.html

Contact EHS for more information on the university’s storm water program.
