Primary Marks

The corporate and word marks shown below are the official trademarks and primary symbols of Wright State University; therefore, they must never be altered or reproportioned in any way, except as specified in this manual. The university primary marks, the words "Wright State University," and the university seal may also appear on collegiate merchandise licensed by LRG (Licensing Resource Group). Anyone interested in using these trademarks for promotional or resale purposes must contact the licensing coordinator in the Office of General Counsel. (See Licensing for more information on the collegiate licensing program.)

Primary Corporate Mark

The primary corporate mark should be used on all university stationery and appear on university communications, particularly to external audiences, whenever possible. The official colors for this mark are PANTONE® 342 (green) and 139 (gold). The mark may appear in one or two colors. The acceptable minimum width for printed applications is 7 picas*, or approximately 1.25 inches.

Primary Wordmark

The primary wordmark may be used whenever the biplane portion of the corporate mark is not appropriate. Official colors for the wordmark are PANTONE® 342 (green) and 139 (gold). The wordmark may appear in one or two colors. The acceptable minimum diameter for printed applications is 7 picas*, or approximately 1.25 inches.

University Seal

The university seal is reserved for only special and presidential uses such as diplomas. The seal can appear in official school colors of PANTONE® 342, 139, and approved metallic and foil stamp colors from the approved institutional color palette. (See Colors for information on color palettes.) The acceptable minimum diameter for printed applications is 5.25 picas* or slightly under one inch.

* One pica equals 12 points; a point — the printer's basic unit of
  type measurement — is approximately 1/72 of an inch.

Violations

The university marks are registered trademarks; therefore, it is important that Wright State University's identity be used consistently and in strict adherence to the guidelines in this manual. These marks must not be altered in any way. Demonstrated below are some unacceptable variations. All of these violations apply to each of the marks in the Wright State University identity program.

Authorized samples of the university marks for web page usage (only) for Wright State University faculty, staff, and students are available at http://www.wright.edu/images/logo.html. Those web images are not of appropriate quality to be used on printed publications or merchandise. Please contact the Office of Communications and Marketing for original, authorized artwork and approval of usage for all Wright State University printed material.

The mark cannot be redrawn, reproportioned, modified, or added to in any way. Incorrect compressed Wright State University logo.

The biplane cannot be altered or repositioned in any way. The Wright brother figure cannot be removed, altered, or repositioned in any way. Incorrect askew Wright State University logo.

The marks may not be used with any other logo or symbol. Incorrect use of combined Wright State University seal and wordmark.

The university marks may not appear or be printed in unapproved colors. The official colors for this mark are PANTONE® 139 (gold) and 342 (green). Use of official colors may not be feasible in certain limited circumstances. Under these conditions, contact the Office of Communications and Marketing for assistance.
