Annual Awards and Recognition Program
The Bolinga Center joins the University leadership and the Deans various colleges in honoring African American graduates with kente stoles. Scholarships for African American students, and the African American student leadership awards are announced.

Black History Month Programs
Activities focusing on African American culture and heritage, and sponsored by BBCRC and/or co-sponsored by student organizations, colleges, and departments.

Black Scholars Speaker Series
Features nationally recognized African American leaders and scholars, in collaboration with the African and African American Studies Program.

Co-Curricular Programs
Each quarter, BBCRC sponsors programs designed to provide opportunities outside of class that support curricular instruction. Authentic African Hour and the Conversations with... Series are examples of programs that may be eligible for extra class credit.

Community/Alumni Speaker Series
Features WSU alumni and/or local African American leaders and scholars in intimate dialogue with students.

Film Series
Features films and documentaries of various topics relative to the Black experience.

Faculty Book Discussion Club
The Bolinga Center in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning has organized a faculty book discussion club to encourage dialogue around African American life and culture, and to increase understanding of the African roots of Black culture in the American diaspora.

Kwanzaa Feast
Fall quarter celebration highlighting the seven principles of Kwanzaa.

Martin Luther King, Jr., Commemoration and Bolinga Anniversary
Annual winter program honoring Dr. King and celebrating the anniversary of the Bolinga Center opening January 15, 1971.

STARS
Student Achievement in Research and Scholarship (STARS) is a program designed to prepare high-achieving minority students for graduate school and, ultimately, for representation in Ohio's college faculties. A unique feature of STARS is its emphasis on mentoring relationships between faculty members and students. Students are linked with a faculty mentor who provides academic counseling regarding graduate school and assists the student with research projects and conference participation. BBCRC works with the campus STARS coordinator to provide supplemental assistance to STARS scholars through this State funded program.

STARS is sponsored by the Ohio Board of Regents.

Student Leadership Institute
Features WSU alumni and/or local African American leaders and scholars in intimate dialogue with students to help prepare them for leadership roles. Those completing the program are designated Bolinga Fellows.

Student Organization Support
BBCRC serves as an advisor to several student groups, including the Black Student Union and "Way With Words Writer's Group." We frequently collaborate with the Paul Laurence Dunbar Chorale and "In His Presence" Gospel Choir.

Tutorial Services
In conjunction with the University College, BBCRC provides tutorial support for eligible students in courses like math, science, and the social sciences. Each quarter the center disseminates information about tutorials to the university community.

The VISIONS Mentoring Program
The VISION Mentoring Program (VMP) was developed to promote the adjustment of first-year African American students to the Wright State University community and to facilitate their retention and graduation.

Welcome Reception
Annual fall reception for all new and returning African American faculty, staff, and students, co-sponsored with the Women's Center, Asian/Hispanic/Native American Center, and Organization for Black Faculty and Staff (OBFS).
