Asian Culture Night 2008
...a night of cultural explorASIAN though the performing arts.

The night began with dances from India, Egypt, Thailand and the Philippines. There also was a Korean Taekwondo martial arts demonstration and a song from the Broadway play "Miss Saigon" performed by Wright State students. This year's special feature was the Li-Juan Golden Rose Girls' Chorus from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China. Established in 1939, the Sichuan Conservatory of Music in Chengdu is one of the older establishments of musical education in China. Under the directorship of Professor Lijuan Zhang, the Li-Juan Golden Rose Girls' Chorus has won regional and national awards. The chorus has performed in Asia, the United States and Europe. This was their first appearance in Dayton, Ohio. The evening ended with the traditional fashion show representing models from China, Japan, Korea, India/Pakistan, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
