Dear Kevin:

I have recently read your commentary about doom's day and I did not feel that doomsday is a fiction. Therefore, I would like to show you certain facts that relate to the doomsday. However, for making it clearer I will include all types of evidence from the science's fact and some from the religious views.

• Nowadays, we could see for ourselves that the earth is becoming unpredictable. From the local newspaper and news broadcast, we were delivered with the news of serious earthquakes, major flooding, and increasingly warming climate all over the world. Each of these if you notice claimed that it becoming intense and increasingly more devastating from the previous disasters.

The most recent disaster that might come is the asteroid and comet event. In the Popular Mechanics magazine for April 1997 edition, the cover story was focused on the preparation for the asteroids hit. In that article page 40, if the asteroids or comets hit our earth, we are hardly to survive after or at the moment of impact. Their claim shows that if we survive after the impact, the clouds will be covered by the dust and we will suffer the same atmosphere that kills dinosaurs several hundred years ago.

The reason I stated the above disasters is I wanted to show the relation with the next kind of evidence. From the religious prediction on Holy Books that dated several hundred years ago, they predicted that every type of natural disasters will increase dramatically each time it will occur. Thus, we could see that it really happens right now as happened in Kobe Japan. The engineers in Japan are already built their buildings and roads to compromise with the earthquakes at maximum Rachter's scale. However, their technologies were suprisingly defeated by a higher scale of the recent earthquake. Therefore, you can see the religious claim that the natural disasters will increase worst than before is proven true on the next paragraph.

Taking from the well-known author Duncan Long from his article 'Rapture and Tribulation' cited in websites (http://www.kansas.net/~duncan/rapture.html) he summarizes the predictions from the Christian's Holy Bible about doomsday. One of signs is the occurrence of earthquakes, floods, and other natural disaster such as comets or asteroids that shows the time are nearing to the end. Here, I would only like to show you the sign of doomsday that have been predicted in the Bible as if now is happening as it supposes to be.

On the other hand, another kind of religion that gives signs on nearing the doomsday is the Islam's Holy Quran. On of the Islamic scholar cited from Islamic website summarized the predictions made in the Quran to a brief article. In that article it was written that when the judgment day is becoming nearer, all of the signs will occur and one of it is the natural disasters.

Therefore, you can see the relation between the predictions from a religious book and the disaster events that occur now. One might say that they do not belief in predictions, but did these predictions come from a Physics? For sure not, because all of it comes from 2 different kind of Holy Books. Nevertheless, it's also interesting to figure out how 2 different books predict the same thing. For your knowledge, these two books are originated from different place and different time.

The reason I show these 2 kinds of evidence in religious view and in scientific view is to make an equal proof for you to compare. I noticed that if I show only theological proof you might not belief on it. Therefore I include the science facts showing that the connection between theology belief and science. Moreover, most of the present society tends to agree on science facts rather than theological signs. Last but not least, the day will come and the only problems whether one should belief or not is only lies on the word 'When?'.
