At Wright State University, we strive to provide a friendly yet challenging learning and research environment so that our students are prepared to either take on employment or further their studies. As an undergraduate student, you have a wide variety of programs from straight physics to concentrations in computation and education. As a graduate student, you can choose between a Master's in Physics or a Master's of Science in Teaching or an interdisciplinary PhD.

Our faculty not only teach but carry out pioneering research in a wide variety of areas such as atmospheric science, biophysics, geophysics, materials science, and nanotechnology. There are 15 full-time and four research faculty. This includes: an American Geophysical Union fellow, an NSF CAREER recipient, an Ohio Board of Regents Teaching fellow, and five female faculty. Our programs are associated with the Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology (IDCAST), the Semiconductor Research Center at WSU and the department houses the WeEXCEL center in science education.
