Education Abroad
Frequently Asked Questions
|
|
Do I have to speak the language of the
country I want to go to?
|
|
We have many opportunities in
non-English speaking countries that not only offer classes in English, but
also provide extensive language study of a native language. Fluency in the
language spoken in the host country may be required for certain programs. |
How can I pay for this?
Are there any scholarships available?
|
|
Students who are currently receiving scholarships, grants, and/or financial aid can apply this
money to their education abroad program. You may also apply for other supplemental loans that are available.
Please see information on WSU Financial Aid at:
http://www.wright.edu/finaid
Also, please notice that all Wright State students
participating in
education abroad programs are required to pay a non-refundable $50.00 application fee. Checks should be payable to Wright State University and should be hand in together with application. |
Can I get credit for my
education/exchange abroad?
|
|
Normally, courses taken abroad will have an equivalent at WSU. See your academic advisor before choosing
your courses and he or she will endorse the list of courses you will take abroad. |
To whom do I pay tuition?
|
|
Students who are going on a USAC Program pay USAC and host universities fees. Students going
on the Ambassador and Exchange Programs pay WSU tuition.
Again, please notice that all Wright State students participating in
education abroad programs are required to pay a non-refundable $50.00 application
fee. Checks should be payable to Wright State University and should be handed in together with the application. |
Am I registered at WSU or
at the host university?
|
|
All
education abroad students are registered
with Wright State University. The UCIE office will register students
participating in exchange and USAC Programs. Students participating in
Ambassador Programs will be responsible for the registration of the
program course |
What kind of
accommodations are available for
education abroad students?
|
|
Students participating in USAC and
Exchange Programs can live in residence halls, apartments, or with host
families. Students participating in Ambassador Programs will be
accommodated in local hotels or hostels. |
