Honors courses in which a C is earned will count
for graduation, but will not count towards fulfilling Honors
requirements.
University Honors Scholar
Complete 8 Honors courses with A or B:
- 3 must count for General Education courses.
- 1 of the 3 must be taken from the UH 201, 202, 203 series.
- UH 201 can replace either fine arts or great books
- UH 202 replaces either political, economic, or social life
- UH 203 can replace the third quarter lab of the science requirement of non-science majors
- 3 can be electives
- 2 must be UH 400 seminars
In addition to the eight-course requirement described above, University Honors Scholars must also complete the requirements for the departmental Honors in the major. University Honors Scholars must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Some majors require higher GPAs for admission to departmental honors.
Departmental Honors Scholar
- Complete the specific Honors requirement of the major.
General Studies Honors Scholar
- Complete eight-course Honors requirement described above with As or Bs and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 (for students entering Fall 2006).
