Priority Registration & Retention

Priority Registration

Students who are admitted to the Honors Program and who have met with an Honors staff member (either individually or in a group setting) are eligible for priority registration. This means that these Honors students will register at the beginning of the registration process. This gives them maximum flexibility in planning their schedules.

Retention

To be eligible for continued participation in the Honors Program, students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and work toward earning an Honors degree designation.  Students will be considered academically ineligible when:

  • A student's cum GPA is below 3.0 for two consecutive quarters
  • A student's cum GPA is below 2.7

Students who fall below these minimal levels of participation will receive written notice of their Honors status.

Consult the Honors Student Handbook (page 7) for additional details on the Honors Program's Retention Policy.
