Choices In Community Living, Inc. (CICL), is a private organization, nonprofit agency that provides community living services for people with mental retardation other developmental disabilities in Montgomery, Clark and Madison Counties in Ohio.

At CICL, employees are provided extensive employee manuals that explain how to properly utilize the organization's filing system. In this service learning project, Emily Ernst, Mindy Kahlig, and Jessica Warman worked directly with CICL to develop a new scheme of organizing client information.

Specifically, the group developed a visual way to communicate its filing process to employees (displayed below). They also creating a compact, linear guide for referencing client and employee documents, a straightforward approach to saving and purging files, and an easy to understand wall-reference guide for the new filing system.

After submitting several drafts and proposals, CICL chose Emily Ernst's design.
