Meet the Assistants

The Honors Institute Assistants are upper-level Honors students who provide research and administrative support for the Honors Institute.  We are pleased to introduce Ben Garrett and Jenna Selhorst as the 2009 Honors Institute Assistants.

Ben Garrett

Ben Garrett is a senior majoring in Middle-Childhood Education with concentrations in Math and Social Studies. He plans to graduate in June 2009 and begin the Graduate Teacher Education Program in July. Ben is active in his church, Hoffman United Methodist in West Milton, where he leads a group of young high school men. He will also be getting married in June to his fiancée Becky.

Jenna Selhorst

Jenna Selhorst is a senior Mass Communications major in Public Relations and is working on obtaining her national nonprofit certification.  She serves on the Leadership Committee of the Newman Catholic Student Association and as the Co-Penny Drive Coordinator of the Golden Key International Honour Society. She is also a member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the American Humanics Student Association. Jenna has interned at SAFY, a private foster care agency, the past two summers, participated in mission trips the past two winter breaks, and is the Director of the Vacation Bible School program in her home town. She plans to graduate Fall 2009, hopefully obtain a position in a nonprofit organization, and some day start her own nonprofit organization working with orphanages all around the world.
