U.S. Urban Poverty

Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change: Part of Case Western University, the Center on Urban Poverty and Social Change seeks to address the problems of persistent and concentrated urban poverty and is dedicated to understanding how social and economic changes affect low-income communities, and how living in these communities affects the well-being of their residents

Windows on Urban Poverty: Funded through a grant by the Brookings Institute, this interactive web site allows one to select a city or metropolitan area and view the location of high-poverty census tracts and observe the growth of high-poverty areas over time

Joblessness and Urban Poverty Research Program: Presented by the The Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy of the John F. Kennedy School of Government  at Harvard University, this site offers numerous studies on urban poverty including focuses on inner city families and the impact of welfare policy.  Includes a link to the Smart Library on Urban Poverty Research, consisting of condensed academic publications on joblessness and poverty in the inner city that are linked theoretically and empirically through a new technology called Question Based Indexing.  Click here to access the Smart Library on Urban Poverty Research.
