The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology offers courses
in metabolism, the molecular aspects of gene expression and cellular
processes, and nutrition. Although the department does not have a formal
baccalaureate degree program, these courses can serve as a concentration
for those interested in building a background in biochemistry before
pursuing a career in medicine or related biomedical sciences.
Honors Program
Under the biological sciences honors program, it is possible for students
to do an undergraduate honors thesis with a faculty member from the
Department of Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology. Students interested in this area of study need background courses
in biology, other life sciences, and chemistry.
