Scholarship Winners

WOW Scholarship

The Wright State Organization for Women (WOW) offers annual scholarships for non-traditional female students with a 3.0 or higher GPA. The deadline for applying for a WOW scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year is March 31, 2009 . Any non-traditional undergraduate female student (age 25 or above or younger with extenuating circumstances such as single head of household, recent divorce, job loss, etc) can apply if she meets the following criteria:

Eligibility Criteria and Essay Requirements:

Applicants must be: 

bullet Non-traditional undergraduate female student (age 25 or above; or younger with extenuating circumstances such as single head of household, recent divorce, job loss, significant life change, etc.);
bullet Enrolled part-time (no less than 3 and no more than 11 credit hours and who have normally carried a part-time course load unless receiving the WOW Scholarship enables the applicant to take additional credit hours classifying them as full-time);
bullet Continuing or transferring to WSU; and who have a documented 3.0 cumulative grade point average established either at Wright State or the more recently attended transfer institution.

Must include an 800-word essay (instructions below)

bullet Must complete application form (click application form link below)

Attach an 800-word (maximum) TYPED essay outlining your educational and career objectives and the reason the scholarship would be beneficial in meeting those goals.  Please be specific regarding circumstances, including financial need, which you feel qualify you for this scholarship. Also a completed application form must be included.

Application Deadline is March 31, 2009.   Awards will be distributed in equal amounts for quarters attended during the next academic year.
