UNIVERSITY TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES

April 8, 2004

Attendees: Dan DeStephen (chaired meeting in place of Chuck Taylor), Paul Hernandez, Sean Kleefeld, Stephen Foster, Ravi Penmetsa, Chuck Gulas (for Barbara Denison), Terry McKee (for Jim Vance), David Hopkins, Ron Dorsten and Carol Holdcraft

I. Approval of Minutes

Minutes of the March meeting were approved as written.

II. College Technology Plan Presentations

• Chuck Gulas presented the Raj Soin College of Business Technology Plan to the committee
• Ravi Penmetsa presented the College of Engineering and Computer Science Technology Plan
• School of Nursing, School of Medicine, School of Professional Psychology and College of Science and Mathematics will present their plans at the May meeting

III. NCA Report - Dan DeStephen

In preparation for the 2006 North Central Accreditation (NCA) of Wright State University, a steering committee has been formed, chaired by Dr. Lillie Howard, to begin a 2-year awareness and self-assessment project. As a member of this steering committee, Dan will keep the UTC updated on its progress. Dr. Hopkins requested participation by all areas of the university in the project.

IV. Announcements

Paul Hernandez announced the roll out of wireless printing in lab areas in the Library basement. It has been very successful and will, therefore, be deployed in all areas on campus in the near future.

The next scheduled UTC meeting will be on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 3:00 - 4:00 in 315 Dunbar Library.
