Policy for Reserving Electronic Classrooms By order of the Provost and the University Technology Council, The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is responsible for opening all electronic classrooms on campus beginning at 7a.m. Monday through Friday. Monday through Thursday the rooms are locked by 11p.m. and on Fridays by 6p.m. All "general" classrooms are to remain unlocked at all times. If there is an after-hours event scheduled through the Registrar's office and CTL has been notified that the equipment in the room is required, the electronic classroom will be opened. There is a charge for after-hours events as CTL must pay technicians overtime. After discussing several recommendations, this draft will be amended and reviewed at the next UTC meeting for approval by the committee. Paul Hernandez suggested this policy be posted on the official CaTS listserv. IV. University Library Projects Another product purchased and implemented by the Library is a course electronic reserve system entitled ERes. This system allows for the direct management of course files by faculty. The audio format should be ready this summer and video is planned for Fall Quarter. V. Other Business Equipment has been ordered to deploy wireless in all student study areas. The Library area will be ready by Fall Quarter with the other areas to be completed as time allows. Other on-going CaTS projects: 1) mail server client change 2)integrated calendar system for students The new location for future UTC meetings will be the conference room in 267 University Hall.
