 I. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of last month's meeting were approved.

II. WebCT Negotiations
Terri Klaus reviewed the progress of negotiations for the WebCT state-wide licensing agreement. WSU will be purchasing the "Campus Edition" product. Terri will report on the results of the negotiated cost as soon as a contract has been finalized.

III. Policy for Reserving Electronic Classrooms
George Frey reviewed the following proposed CTL policy on "Unlocking Electronic Classrooms."

By order of the Provost and the University Technology Council, The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is responsible for opening all electronic classrooms on campus beginning at 7a.m. Monday through Friday. Monday through Thursday the rooms are locked by 11p.m. and on Fridays by 6p.m. All "general" classrooms are to remain unlocked at all times. If there is an after-hours event scheduled through the Registrar's office and CTL has been notified that the equipment in the room is required, the electronic classroom will be opened.

There is a charge for after-hours events as CTL must pay technicians overtime.

After discussing several recommendations, this draft will be amended and reviewed at the next UTC meeting for approval by the committee. Paul Hernandez suggested this policy be posted on the official CaTS listserv.

IV. University Library Projects
Pat Walker announced the purchase of an Inter Library Loan Management System which allows the Library to track requests for borrowing and lending material not accessible on-line. This service will be available Fall Quarter, 2002.

Another product purchased and implemented by the Library is a course electronic reserve system entitled ERes. This system allows for the direct management of course files by faculty. The audio format should be ready this summer and video is planned for Fall Quarter.

V. Other Business
Paul Hernandez announced limited deployment for testing purposes of the remote access project discussed by Larry Fox at a previous meeting. Testing is being performed in the Help Desk department and the results are very positive.

Equipment has been ordered to deploy wireless in all student study areas. The Library area will be ready by Fall Quarter with the other areas to be completed as time allows.

Other on-going CaTS projects: 1) mail server client change 2)integrated calendar system for students

The new location for future UTC meetings will be the conference room in 267 University Hall.
