II. Changes in University Library Committee III. CaTS Update A. Paul Hernandez reviewed the project begun several years ago to replace the University administrative systems. Due to budget reductions, however, this project was put on hold until recently. The State of Ohio is now interested in a collaborative effort with Ohio higher education schools to assess the needs of state schools with regard to this project. A number of schools are now in the process of assessing these needs using a company named "Advantiv". This This needs assessment and gap analysis process will take approximately two to three months. Once it is completed, Advantiv will give a presentation to the campus community. B. The Gartner Group has recently changed their recommendation on PC replacement cycles from three-year cycles to four-year cycles. Therefore, the faculty computer initiative will change to a four-year replacement cycle. C. CaTS will be renovating/combining the 042-044 labs to create a testing lab that will hold approximately 60 computers. When not being used for testing, this will be an open lab. IV. CTL Update Dan DeStephen reported CTL will be replacing the scheduling software for equipment being used in the classrooms. CTL will be testing the new Avail software for 6-9 months before implementing. V. Other Announcements A. Barbara Denison announced the 2002 Dayton Electronic Commerce Conference presented by the Dayton Electronic Commerce Forum in conjunction with Raj Soin College of Business to be held Wednesday, May 29th from 7:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. at Wright State University's Student Union. Pre-registration is required via the web at www.dayton-ec-forum.org B. Bonnie Mathies announced on October 10, 2002, the Southwestern Region Advisory Committee of the Ohio Learning Network will be meeting at Wright State University. All interested parties are invited to attend. C. Chirs Watson informed the committee that STAC (Student Technology Assistance Center) will be re-locating from Allyn Hall to a renovated section of the Dunbar Library and will increase the number of computers from 4 to 12. Expanded hours will begin Fall Quarter, 2002. A demonstration of this project will be made to UTC in the near future. The next scheduled meeting will be on Thursday, May 9, 2002 from 3:00 - 5:00p.m. in 158 University Hall..
