 I. Approval of Minutes of Latest Meeting
The minutes of the October 18, 2001 meeting were approved.

II. Distance Learning Update -  Terri Klaus
A)
Terri distributed a statistical report on the current distance learning/web enhancement course information for Fall Quarter (attachment 1). This report indicates a significant amount of ongoing course development. Beginning Winter Quarter, an information packet will be mailed to all students enrolled in these courses.
B)
Terri also discussed an assessment and evaluation program purchased by CTL entitled "Flashlight". An overview of this product was distributed. During Winter Quarter orientation sessions will be provided for training on this program.
C)
CTL will be requesting any faculty member teaching mixed mode or web-only distance learning courses during Spring Quarter to meet as a cohort group on a regular basis.

III. Faculty Computer Initiative - Paul Hernandez
As of this meeting, CaTS has only received computer information from three colleges. Therefore, an extension has been granted to the end of this month. The cutoff point will be anything less than:

WINDOWS PC:
Pentium II
350 mHz
128mb RAM (256 strongly preferred)
CD
17" monitor
MACINTOSH:
PowerPC G3 (iMac, G3 Desktop/Tower)
300 mHz
128 mb RAM (256 strongly preferred)
CD
17" monitor

IV. CaTS Update - Terry Anderson
A)
ROX Update - Still on target with on-line registration and fee payment projects. On-line registration is in the final testing phase and should be out by December. On-line fee payment has been implemented for the WSU Alumni Foundation and will be available for student fee payment by Spring Quarter.
B)
Workflow - This project is still in progress and will take until the end of the year.

V. Announcements
A)
Donna Hamilton reported 1,100 responses so far to the Web visitor survey. Feedback has been very positive.
B)
Chuck Taylor discussed the handling of service for computers on campus. He asked if there was a significant amount of outsourcing for repairs versus using the
electronic shop on campus. Paul Hernandez noted that several years ago a company was hired to do repairs for on-campus computers. However, there was not enough business to justify this arrangement. Paul will check on the cost of repairs to peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.) for possible justification of outsourcing repairs.

The next scheduled UTC meeting will be on Thursday, December 13, 2001 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in E157 Student Union.
