III. Telecom Infrastructure Update - Paul

This summer, Telecommunications Services will be implementing upgrades to the
telephone system. First, there will
be an upgrade the main campus system to handle the increased housing; second
will be to replace three telephone switches in remote locations.
These switches will be IP-capable. This will not change any capabilities
and upgrades will be done when activity is very low.
IV. Video-conferencing Systems - Dan
DeStephen
Dan
discussed the possible interest by faculty in the use of portable
video-conferencing equipment for classrooms. At the present time, Center for
Teaching & Learning does not have any of these units, but is considering
purchasing several for use in some of the classrooms on campus.
Several of the members in attendance expressed a strong interest.
V. Faculty Computer Initiative - Paul Hernandez
Paul needs final numbers by the end of January from all
colleges interested in purchasing new desktop computers for full-time faculty.
The minimum replacement requirement is less than 200 mHz.
Responses are still needed from School of Nursing, College of Science and
Math, College of Engineering and Computer Science, and School of Professional
Psychology. Email Paul at paul.hernandez@wright.edu
