Therefore, CaTS is in the process of aggressively pursuing server registration on campus.  In the next few weeks, an education campaign will begin to make the campus community aware of techniques and approaches to secure individual systems. CaTS is also in the process of hiring an outside security organization to conduct a thorough assessment of all WSU systems.

Mary Clem gave a demonstration of a WSU website ( www.wright.edu/security ) regarding the protection of the University’s computing and information resources/data in compliance with information-related laws, regulations, policies and security best practices.

CTL Updates

Dan DeStephen announced that due to problems over the last several years with classroom equipment accepting Novell-driven programs, CTL has implemented changes to these machines.  In the future, all CTL classroom equipment will be imaged with the same applications as those accessible in the CaTS labs.  A list of those applications is attached.  Due to this change, all faculty members using this equipment will be required to authenticate to begin and log off when finished.  This information and available workshops will be distributed to all faculty.
