The meeting was called to order by John Sheidler, USAC Chair at 8:32 am.
I. Welcome by John Sheidler
II. Approval of Minutes for November 16, 2006
The minutes were approved as presented.
III. Committee Reports
1-Athletic Council - Pam Berry-Griffis, Gary Sutton
Patrick Ferguson, Women's Soccer Coach was present. The team was third in Division I. They won nine straight games this year. They are 80 out of 310 programs. They are #2 behind OSU. They are having good recruitment.
The Strategic Planning Process was presented by Dr. Michael Cusack, Matt Liddy and Dr. Robert Sweeney.
There will be a special game/concert on Saturday, December 16th. WSU Men's Basketball plays Bowling Green and a concert featuring Survivor will follow.
2-Diversity Advocacy Council - Jay Peterson

3-Parking Services - Mike Coyle
No meeting since last USAC meeting. No updates.
4-University Dining Services - Karin Nevius
Last meeting was November 16th. Dining Services will have Intersession hours. They are considering Burger King, Skyline Chili and a deli area for the Hanger.
Sodexho will be involved in a symposium on hunger in January. They are working on better advertising events.
5-University Staff Council - Mendy Beverly, Barb Bullock, Greg Kojola, John Sheidler
Topics of discussion were Parental Leave, Parking, Faculty and Staff, and the draft of a Compensation Handbook.
6-Wellness and Recreation - Sheryl Kent
Last Meeting was held on December 13, 2006

Intersession Rec Fit Group Fitness classes will continue through December 22nd
Winter Rec Fit Group Fitness Classes begin January 2- will run through Finals week- 53 classes will be offered this term
University Cup Challenge Kick-off will be January 5 at Noon
Cross Ohio will begin January 8
Blood Drive- January 11
Chair Massage- January 12
Fitness Center Update- Grand Opening Fall 2007- upon completion of Phase 2
will feature a Health Fitness Suite which will provide a Transitional work out space, Fitness testing, and Personal training
University Cup Challenge- is to utilize the 8 wellness components: occupational, emotional, family, financial, mental, physical, social, & spiritual as a guide to enhance healthier lifestyles and promote a high quality of personal wellness. Through participation in the seminars and adventures provided to you in our activities we will ensure the balance of these areas and your life. As a result, you will experience a happier and healthier you and in turn promote a happier and healthier Wright State University.
Flyers will be sent to Faculty and Staff next week to promote the Challenge. Each building on campus will earn participation points, and the winner will hold the University Cup until the next Challenge in 2008.
The Wellness and Recreation committee is seeking volunteers to assist with distributing information. If you are interested and would like to be a Building/Office

1-Dr Goldenberg Retirement Celebration
No new information.
2-Staff Development Day
The next event will be Monday, December 18th. The workshop list is online. Registration ends soon.
3-CSAC/USAC Holiday Party
Postponed due to room scheduling issues. Tentative date is February 1st.
No new information.
5-Goals for 2006/2007
We are still open for any suggestions.
Our understanding is that AAUP is planning on negotiating on parking for faculty that teach later in the day.
An email will be sent to all unclassified staff providing them updates on USAC activities. The new web design was shown and approved. A banner still needs to be worked on.
VI. New Business
John Sheidler has tried to get a date from HR for this. More planning will be done in January.
