On behalf of the Organization for Black Faculty and Staff (OBFS), I welcome you to our web page. Your interest in our organization is greatly appreciated.

OBFS has been an integral part of the Wright State University community since the early 1980s. It has made some significant strides through the years in
upgrading its overall organization and mission, with the objective of being more centrally involved in the critical affairs of the University.

Over the past year, OBFS has been quite active. We hosted a welcoming reception, welcoming back old and new members. We also established
scholarships for students with high academic ability and achievement, and for students demonstrating financial need. We met with top university
administrators in an effort to proactively champion issues of general concern to all members of the African-American community. We established a welcoming
committee, which welcomes all new African-American faculty and staff to our community, and we have successfully launched this web page.

During the upcoming years, the OBFS’ goal is to help the University establish an environment that facilitates cultural diversity. Part of the vision for this organization,
is not to establish separate programs, but to help the university community be more sensitive and responsible to the needs of African-American faculty, staff and students.

As we forge forward, your support, especially your active participation as a member will provide OBFS with the critical energy and strength needed to effectively support our mission.
OBFS is open is any faculty and staff member who believes in the mission of the organization. We are committed to fulfilling our mission, and it is our hope that you will share in our
enthusiasm as you gain knowledge about our organization.
