Grapevine - December 2000

Fall Newsletter Mary Alspaugh, Editor

FALL HOLIDAY PARTY – Our fall open forum will be a holiday party. It will be held on December 6, 2000 in the Upper Hearth Lounge from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm. There will be a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Greene County Domestic Violence Project. The Owner of the winning ticket will receive a gift certificate (valued at 50% of the total raffle money collected) to the Fairfield Commons Mall. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. They are available from any CSAC member. Door prizes and refreshments will also be available.

CSAC WEB PAGE – We would like to send a BIG thank you to Micki Stamps for her recent work on the CSAC webpage.

CSAC ELECTIONS – Kathy Warden is a returning member of CSAC this term. Her name was overlooked in the last CSAC Grapevine. My apologies.

WSU COVERLET - The new updated coverlets have arrived. The new coverlets are still Hunter Green and Cream, but with a new face-lift. The new price will be $55.00. Payment: Cash, Check, Money Order, MasterCard, Visa or Departmental 1100 forms. Each coverlet will include a brochure that describes the campus buildings and items found on the coverlet. The proceeds will, once again, benefit the CSAC scholarship fund. If any one is interested in seeing one of the coverlets, please contact Eileen Porter at 3606 or Donna Curtin at 2724. These are just in time for the holiday and will make a nice holiday gift. These can be seen at the OPEN FORUM so bring your checkbook.

HUMAN RESOURCES UPDATE/INFORMATION – We are continuing to meet quarterly or as needed with HR to discuss Classified issues. The FIRST OPPORTUNITY Transfer/Promotion Procedure has currently been placed on hold. Human Resources has delayed finalization of this project until after the first of the year. We will keep you appraised of this as we move forward.

CLASSIFIED STAFF HANDBOOK - Human Resources has finally updated our badly needed handbook. However, council felt the need to get involved to make sure this will address all staff issues. In order to do this, CSAC has set up a new subcommittee to address these concerns. The committee is being chaired by Lori Dock and subcommittee members are: Eileen Porter, Laura Parr, Kathy Warden, Ileene Archer and Dee Childress.

CSAC CHARTER – We are currently working on updating the CSAC Charter and bylaws. It was unanimously approved at the Open CSAC Assembly in October to move forward with revision of the current charter and to add bylaws. Bill Mills is heading up the subcommittee working on this. Revisions to the charter are almost finished and the bylaws additions are in progress. We hope to have these revisions ready to present at the Spring Open Assembly. More as this progresses.

MAIL CENTER MOVING – The University Mail Center will be moving to a new location, 050 Allyn Hall (the old ESPM retail area). This move will take place on Thursday, December 14th. The Mail Center will be closed for normal business on this day while equipment and furniture is being disconnected, moved and setup in its new location. There will be no campus mail on that date, but operations will resume on Friday, December 15th.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM YOUR CSAC REPRESENTATIVES
