The Medical Sciences Building
The
Medical Sciences Building, completed in 1976 when the WSU School
of Medicine admitted its first class, boasts an unusual octagonal design,
which provides more floor space per square foot of the exterior wall than more
traditional designs. The building houses the Fordham
Health Sciences Library and serves as the hub for Wright State's community-based
medical school, which has become a national model for innovative medical education.
With clinical training sites at major hospitals and medical centers in the Miami
Valley, the school also is affiliated with more than 20 other health care institutions
in the region.
