October 1, 2021 - [OFFICIAL-L] Campus plots celebrating Wright State’s Black fraternities, sororities to be unveiled Saturday

Architectural Rendering of the new divine 9 dedicated plaze

Dear Wright State Community,

I am thrilled to invite you to a historic event.

Our new National Pan-Hellenic Council Memorial Plots are dedicated to the students and alumni members of all nine historically Black Greek Letter Organizations, often referred to as the Divine 9. These organizations have a rich history of achievement, community service, and excellence in higher education that dates back to the early 1900s.

We are honored to dedicate this plaza in recognition of these organizations and their members and look forward to utilizing this space as an area for reflection and celebration for years to come.

We invite the entire Wright State community to join us for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration on Saturday, October 2, at 3 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the plots’ location, in the dedicated green space adjacent to University Hall and in proximity to the "Turning Points" sculpture ("BART").

A reception will follow in the Student Union at 4:30 p.m.

We look forward to celebrating this momentous occasion with you.

Best wishes,

Sue
